Beach of the Week: Tub Kaak Beach, Krabi Thailand
Travel
Each week we bring you one of the best beaches in the world as our beach of the week. This week’s best beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand.
Beach: Tub Kaak (sometimes spelt Tupkaek).
Where: In Krabi, one of the southern provinces of Thailand on the beautiful coastline of the Andaman Sea.
Why: This quiet stretch of silky soft sand is perfect if the idea of buckets and UV is not the kind of Thailand holiday you had in mind. One of the main draws of this beach is its lack of long tail boats giving an idyllic tranquil feel – perfect for hard day lazing and reading a book. If you’re feeling adventurous then rent a motorbike and explore the national parks and busier beaches nearby (Ao Nang is a twenty minute ride away).
How: The flights from Bangkok to Krabi run throughout the day and take around an hour and a half. If you have a bit more time and want to take in the scenery then hop on the sleeper train to Surat Thani (very Some like it Hot) and your hotel will arrange a car to pick you up.
H20: Granny smith.
Sand Tone: French stick.
Stay: The Tubkaak Boutique Hotel has a selection of beautiful private villas that have won lots of environmental and design awards. Take advantage of the day trips to Hong Island and then kick back and indulge with a spa treatment in the hotels Thai spa (can we come as well?)
When: November to March is ideal to avoid the rainy season.
