Top 7 Yachting Holidays

Yachts. The absolute epitome of luxury and style. Sailing around our favourite Islands is one of Beach Tomato HQ’s top bucket list activities. Here’s our edit of the best.

Greece
Not many experiences rival sailing around the gorgeous Greece. If you’ve never been, sailing around these Islands is a magical, jaw-dropping experience. Cruise through the crystal clear waters, relax on the deck as you sip on a cocktail, pretend to be captain of the ship, or re-enacting the infamous Titanic move at sunset… (Okay we’re getting carried away). As you disembark onto a cluster of beautiful Islands you’ll be immediately struck by the distinct air of quiet glamour. A vision of white and blue, their unparalleled beauty lies in the simplicity. With pretty, boho hotels dotted around the shoreline and rustic restaurants serving the freshest Greek cuisine it manages to maintain its lustre as a playground for smart Athenians and the global jet-set.

Cannes
The glamorous playground of royalty, celebrities, and the just plain rich …Since the launch of the Cannes Film Festival in 1946, the fabulous and famous have moored their million pound yachts into the French Riviera harbour. The likes of Grace Kelly and Bridget Bardot were often spotted disembarking their extravagant yachts and heading to Club 55, clad in all their glitz and glamour.

British Virgin Islands
Glistening water, soft sand, tropical temperatures and rum-ilicious cocktails – what more could you want? With so many dots of Islands to discover in the BVI it is well known for being one of the best places to set sail in the world. Moor your boat and discover secluded bays or dive into the depths of the ocean and discover the beautiful live coral.

Croatia
Croatia isn’t known for its sandy beaches, not that there aren’t any (heaven forbid) but because they are all pebbly and so best accessed on your very own super luxurious yacht. Snorkel in the surrounding clear allure water or drop anchor in coves for the most extraordinary dip of your life. Before hot-footing it onto the oh-so-pretty pebbly patch of beach, make sure you’ve got that 50’s/60s summer style on lockdown. Think understated Mediterranean elegance – pretty pastels, floppy sunhats and nautical tees.

Italy

For an idyllic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, set sail and discover quiet coves, spectacular views and the freshest seafood on offer in Italy…Spend a couple of weeks getting lost along the gorgeous Amalfi coast on your very own private yacht. Drop anchor at Capri, volcanic Ischia or the other Phlegrean islands; work your way along the Amalfi coastal resorts of Sorrento, Positano and Ravello; or head north to the Pontine islands, just a handful of the hot spots that the rich and famous frequented in the 50s and 60s. The coast is dotted with some of the most beautiful beaches and charming seaside towns.

Thailand
Dip your toes into the world of luxe and jump on board a fabulous yacht around some of Thailand’s famous white shores. From the palmed fringe beaches and mouth-watering cuisine to the crystal blue waters and unforgettable sunsets there is no doubt about it, Thailand is a tropical haven. Indulge in a Thai cooking class on one of the gorgeous islands or take advantage of the top ten diving and snorkelling spots in the world. This is one playground the rich and famous never tire of and it’s not hard to see why, especially with its award winning spas and beautiful landscape.

Turkey
Lounge on the front deck of your exclusive private yacht whilst you wind in and out of the Islands. With idyllic sandy beaches, pretty harbours bustling with family-run restaurants and picturesque cliff edges, Turkey is an exquisite taste of Mediterranean beauty. Dip in and out of hidden coves, snorkel to your heart’s content in the azure waters or experience the buzzing night market – stalls spill onto the narrow streets of Fethiye; where merchants display an array of handicrafts and authentic jewellery.
