BEST BEACHES | PETER ISLAND

Beach Tomato gets down to business to discover some of the best beaches in the British Virgin Islands.

Peter Island is one of the exclusive private islands in the BVI, and has just one hotel – the luxurious Peter Island Resort. Two of our featured beaches are reserved solely for the use of the resort’s guests, so grab a bikini (or three) and head here for a slice of exclusive island living. Diving buffs will also find plenty to keep them entertained – there are 30 dive sites within a 20 minute boat ride of the island.

White Bay

White Bay

Located on Peter Island, this beach is solely for the use of Peter Island Resort’s guests, and there’s no finer way to feel like a VIP in the BVI. The lovely staff at the resort will reserve you a tiki hut, arrange a drop-off and pick-up, and even prepare a picnic so that you can dine in style on one of the world’s most exclusive beaches. A long, curving bay of fine white sand, great snorkelling and lush greenery all contribute to the stranded-on-a-desert-island feel, all within easy reach of the island’s premium facilities, of course.

Honeymoon Beach

Honeymoon Beach

It’s not called Honeymoon Beach for nothing. This private beach can only be enjoyed à deux, with guests booking a morning or afternoon slot through Peter Island Resort. The hotel will arrange your transport to the beach and pick you up later on. They’ll even make you up a picnic to take along so all you have to think about is whether you’d rather laze on the powder soft sand with your one and only, or take a dip in those alluring Caribbean waters.

This is rated as one of the top ten most romantic beaches in the world, and who are we to argue? Exclusively for the use of Peter Island Resort guests, there are palm fringed sands and snorkelling opportunities aplenty (keep your eyes peeled for the green sea turtles). While you’re there, check out the great beach bar and grill where you can sample West Indian or international food. Twice a week (Sunday and Wednesday evenings), there is a live steel drum band for your listening pleasure.
