BEACH: Steephill Cove
WHERE: Ventnor, Isle of Wight
WHY: It is no wonder the locals have kept schtum about this secret cove, with nautical buildings lining the shore, fishermen hard at work, rock pools to explore and striped deckchairs scattered along the sand, this is the perfect place for some bucket-and-spade type fun.
HOW: With no road access, the only way to uncover this gem is to start off at the Ventnor Botanical Gardens, follow the path that runs past Ventnor Cricket Academy and then make your way down the steps off Love Lane.
